Mark Ronson’s new EP “Record Collection 2012” is as excellent as we have come to expect from the master of 21st Century disco. With vocals from big names such as Pharell Williams, MNDR, Wiley and Wretch 32 the new release picks up where “Bang Bang Bang” left off with dramatic keyboard backing, must-dance beats, electronica and uplifting eighties-inspired vocals.
There is no way that listeners can go wrong with this classy act. Ronson expertly balances beats and synth with melody and harmony. You’ll be tapping your feet as soon as the first catchy refrain chimes in to remind you of the empty nature of fame and money “I only want to be in your record collection, oh-oh-whoah-oh”.
There’s a beat for every taste with six remixes to choose from – go for the spooky bongos of the Logo remix, the relaxed spacious house basics of Plastic Plates or the syncopated cymbals CSS take on Ronson’s hit.
