Good Morning Britain published this video item, entitled “Is It Time To Scrap GCSEs? Former Education Secretary Who Introduced The Examinations Says Yes | GMB” – below is their description.
Tony Blair’s son, Euan, has suggested GCSEs should be scrapped because they are not a good indicator of future work performance and can hinder social mobility. The millionaire founder of the Multiverse apprenticeships firm said it would not be ‘a bad idea’ to get rid of GCSEs, saying teenagers sat ‘mock after mock, and this becomes the end in itself rather than actually learning, is really problematic’.
We are joined by former Education Secretary, Lord Kenneth Baker, who introduced the exams who agrees with Euan and Sian Griffiths, Sunday Times, who agrees GCSEs are not perfect but should not be scrapped.
