Residents of England’s last county without a McDonald’s are at war over plans to introduce a new 24-hour drive-through restaurant to be decided this Tuesday. The historic county of Rutland is England’s smallest and it is the last county in England with no McDonald’s, Burger King, or KFC – yet. Residents worry the introduction of the fast food chain will ruin the town’s unique charm and could even lower house prices while supporters say it will finally provide an affordable place to eat.
