ICU Nurse Gave up Part of Her Maternity Leave to Return to Work | Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain published this video item, entitled “ICU Nurse Gave up Part of Her Maternity Leave to Return to Work | Good Morning Britain” – below is their description.

34 year old intensive care ward at Warrington Hospital, sister Vicky Neville has written an open letter describing the agony of losing patients and calling their loved ones with the tragic news. She says she’s speaking out to “open people’s eyes” to the impact of the virus.” The letter details the final moments of a 57 year old dad of two who suddenly deteriorated and whose wife could not be at his side because she too had the virus. “I listen to them cry and I hold back the tears. I tell them I’m with their husband and I won’t leave him. I didn’t leave him, I stayed by his side for three hours – he arrested…three times…I held his hand through double gloves. I placed a knitted heart on his chest, my visor steaming up. He was 57, the same age as my mum.”
