‘I Sent Naked Selfies Of Myself Aged 13 – It Almost Destroyed Me & My Family’ | This Morning

This Morning published this video item, entitled “‘I Sent Naked Selfies Of Myself Aged 13 – It Almost Destroyed Me & My Family’ | This Morning” – below is their description.

A recent survey found that 60% of teenage girls under the age of 18 have been asked by a boy to send a nude photo of themselves – with a third of the girls surveyed saying they were first asked when they were under the age of 13. Mother Gay Longworth discovered her 13-year-old daughter Roxy had been coerced into sending explicit images to a boy four years her senior when she received a phonecall from her school. The photos were spreading around Roxy’s peers like wildfire, leading to Roxy dropping out of school with severe mental health issues. Roxy – now 19 – and her mum Gay join us today to explain why they have written a book together about their experiences, alongside child psychologist Dr Elizabeth Kilbey.
