US coronavirus supremo Dr Anthony Fauci has criticised the speed at which UK regulators approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. “If you go quickly and you do it superficially, people are not going to want to get vaccinated,” Fauci told Fox News. “We have the gold standard of a regulatory approach with the FDA. READ UK approves Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for use with rollout from next week. “The UK did not do it as carefully,” he added. The UK government said on 2 December that it accepted a recommendation from the MHRA to use the vaccine, making it the first country in the world to do so.
