The Greek lawyer who led the prosecution against Harry Maguire has hit out at the Manchester United star’s ‘ridiculous’ account of his arrest. Maguire claimed in an interview with BBC News last week that he thought he was being kidnapped by fake police in Mykonos and tried to run away ‘in fear for his life’ after they hit him in the legs and told him he ‘won’t play again’. It was his first interview since he was handed a 21-month suspended prison sentence following a brawl on the Greek island last week. Prosecution lawyer Ioannis Paradissis slammed Maguire’s account of the events surrounding his arrest as ‘ridiculous,’ and ‘unbelievable’ and for his lack of apology over the events.
