Set in the 10th century AD, Eggers’ violent tale of a vengeful prince is based on the ancient Norse sagas that inspired William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The Northman – which also stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Björk, and Willem Dafoe – opens in theaters on April 22, 2022.
