Spider-Man: No Way Home Artist Reveals Mysterio vs. Doctor Strange Duel – IGN The Fix: Entertainment

IGN published this video item, entitled “Spider-Man: No Way Home Artist Reveals Mysterio vs. Doctor Strange Duel – IGN The Fix: Entertainment” – below is their description.

We could’ve had Mysterio in Spider-Man: No Way Home! Early versions of Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art show the caped villain, Mysterio, locked in battle with Doctor Strange, pitting the two illusionists against one another in the final fight that took place at the Statue of Liberty. This comes to us from #SpidermanNoWayHome concept artist Andrew Reader who posted various designs he did for the film to his Artstation account. Mysterio was seemingly killed off in Far From Home, but did make claims of being from an alternate universe. While the villain was proven to be nothing more than a large-scale grifter from this universe, perhaps the writers initially had bigger plans for the supervillain in No Way Home that just didn’t pan out in the end. Co-writer for No Way Home, Chris McKenna, did say in an interview with The Wrap that they were going to include some major Marvel characters in No Way Home, but had to cut those cameos so as to not overshadow Tom Holland’s Peter Parker story. With great power comes great responsibility, which all the writers that’ve penned the many tales of Spider-Man on both the big and small screen have had to take into account. So what did director of the original Spider-Man trilogy, Sam Raimi, think of Spider-Man’s latest excursion? He apparently loved it. And finally, Titan Comics’ Cowboy Bebop issue #1, based on the Netflix live action Cowboy Bebop series, just released.
