It’s no secret E3 2021 was a little busted but even still both Nintendo and Microsoft managed to pull through with strong summer showcases which has left PlayStation fans waiting for a big event of their own.

Well, July’s State of Play event didn’t quite hit the mark but to Sony’s credit, they gave fair warning around what the small showcase would entail. However, summer is coming to an end and so rumors are ramping up about a special PlayStation event that could happen in August.

Speaking of Rumors the Switch Pro continues to be a hot button topic even after the OLED Switch was officially confirmed this week. Some have even now resorted to calling the next, next iteration of Nintendo’s hybrid console the Switch 2.

In other news Ubisoft is preparing to turn the Assassin’s Creed franchise into a platform or game as service, DICE LA is being rebranded to Ripple Effect Studios, and Tencent really doesn’t want kids in China staying up past their bedtime to play video games.
