Zendaya’s character, Chani, plays a pivotal role in the epic journey of Timothee Chalamet’s Paul Atreides. As a native of Arrakis, Chani has taken up arms alongside her fellow Fremen against their oppressors, the wicked House Harkonnen. These alien overlords have brutally oppressed the Fremen in order to extract their planet’s most valuable natural resource, the Spice Melange. Chani’s destiny proves to be intertwined with that of Paul Atreides, a young man who dreams of this young woman he’s never met in a world he’s not yet visited. The Fremen will come to believe Paul is the savior they have anticipated for thousands of years. A reluctant hero, Paul assumes the Fremen name Muad’Dib, takes Chani as his concubine, and leads the Fremen in an uprising against the Galactic Padishah Empire. Dune opens n the US and UK on October 22 and in Australia on October 21.

Zendaya is an American actress and singer. She began her career as a child model and backup dancer, before gaining prominence for her role as Rocky Blue on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up (2010–2013).

In 2013, Zendaya was a contestant on the sixteenth season of the competition series Dancing with the Stars. From 2015 to 2018, she produced and starred as the titular spy, K.C. Cooper, in the sitcom K.C. Undercover.
