The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a public service broadcaster established under a Royal Charter, which operates under its Agreement with the UK’s Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all British households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts and iPlayer catch-up. Around a quarter of BBC’s revenue comes from its commercial subsidiary BBC Studios (formerly BBC Worldwide), which sells BBC programmes and services internationally.

After an emotional journey with rare complications in their first pregnancy, Faith and Aaron are about to have a baby…

Miscarriage is the most common pregnancy complication with an estimated one in four women experiencing at least one miscarriage during their reproductive lifetime – around a quarter of a million in the UK each year. Current NHS guidelines mean that women must have three consecutive miscarriages before there is any investigation to find out if there is an underlying cause. No known cause is currently found in around half of all miscarriages.

World-leading consultant obstetrician Professor Siobhan Quenby is determined to change this. She has over twenty years’ experience in recurrent miscarriage, treating women with high-risk pregnancies. Her goal is to keep more babies growing safely in the womb to prevent an early delivery or stillbirth.
