Battle Of Britain Rear Gunner Tells Us To ‘Never Forget’ Veterans | Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain published this video item, entitled “Battle Of Britain Rear Gunner Tells Us To ‘Never Forget’ Veterans | Good Morning Britain” – below is their description.

Veteran Bernard “Bunny” Ellis is fronting a campaign for The Not Forgotten, a British Armed forces charity supported by GMB in the 1 Million Minutes campaign The ‘Forgot You Not’ campaign will launch on Tuesday 15th September – the 80th Anniversary of Battle of Britain to find WWII Veterans who have missed out of VE and VJ Day celebrations and felt lonely and isolated this year due to COVID then send them a ‘Forgot you Not’ gift box to thank them for their service, lift spirits, remind them their service remains valued, and that they are not forgotten. Bunny was a rear gunner in the RAF. He enlisted in 1941 and in 1945, aged only 19, he came close to losing his own life when his aircraft was shot down while flying a sortie over the Bay of Biscay. Although his collar bone and both his ankles were broken, he managed to eject and parachute into the sea. He literally ‘got on his bike’ recently and helped raise over £3,000 cycling 12.1km in seven days to raise money and awareness for The Not Forgotten.
