Janice Brooks worked for Eurobrokers on the 84th floor of the South Tower. She’d only just started work in New York, arriving 19 days before Sept 11th. 62 – of a staff of 345 – died from her firm. She was in early that morning, and her account of the events are graphic. She tells Martin and Kate all about her recollection of the event, from the smells, sights and sheer terror she was feeling. She reveals that at first she was told the building was secure and staff should remain put but fortunately she did not listen to this advice. She crawled through debris as the injured evacuated and when she got outside she looked back and saw a gaping hole where her floor should have been.
