2011 Grammy Nominations Announced

Lil Wayne has earned 5 Grammy nominations for the 2011 awards which are set to take place on 12th February 2012. He looks set to scoop the Best Rap Album Award for “Tha Carter IV”, which sold nearly 1 million copies in its first week. His record label buddy, DJ Khaled received his first nomination as a result of a collaboration with the rapper – “I’m On One” [Featuring Drake, Rick Ross, & Lil Wayne] has been nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Cash Money Records have pin-hooked a number of other major award-winning names, including Drake, who is named on four Grammy nominations. Nicky Minaj has received 3 nominations after having just scooped the “Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist” at the 39th annual American Music Awards.

The artist with the most nominations is Kanye West, followed closely by Adele, Foo Fights and Bruno Mars – thus promising a stellar turn out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
