California Pizza Kitchen Opens Restaurant in Mumbai, India

California Pizza Kitchen has opened a third restaurant in India, providing American-style pizzas, salads and pastas to the Infiniti Mall in the suburb of Malad, North of Mumbai. The mall also includes a 5 screen cinema and an indoor rollercoaster as well as shops with big name  brands such as Lacoste and Zara. The new restaurant seats 150 people and has an open kitchen.

The new outlet is operated by a franchise partner JSMGGC India Pvt. Ltd., a joint-venture between Mumbai-based JSM Corporation and the Dubai-based Gourmet Gulf Company. California Pizza Kitchen has 266 restaurants of which 205 are company-owned and 61 operate under franchise or license agreements. The company has just been bought by an affiliate of Golden Gate Capital for $470 million or $18.50 per share.
