Questar Corp has announced its 269th consecutive dividend. The US-based natural gas producer will pay shareholders 16.25 cents per share on 12th March 2012.
Questar Corp originated in 1922 with a well drilled at South Baxter in Wyoming. The company now concentrates on distribution, transportation, storage and production.
The dividend takes the company over half way to matching the record for consecutive dividends, believed to be held by the York Water Company who have paid 561 dividends since 1816 – that is, 195 years.
Other long-term dividend investments include Procter & Gamble, which has paid dividends consistently for over 120 years, consecutively increasing its dividends for 58 years. Pfizer, Halliburton and Wells Fargo have all been paying dividends consecutively since the first half of the 20th century.
