Dave Lapham In The Trenches published this video item, entitled “Joe Burrow Postgame Browns | It Was A Long Day For Us” – below is their description.
The night started looking like the Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals offense was going to pick up where they left off last Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
However, the Cleveland Browns defense had a different plan for Burrow and the Bengals’ offense as they were searching for a must-needed win.
On the first drive of the night, Burrow looked deep for receiver Tee Higgins, covered by Browns cornerback Greedy Williams. Both Bengals felt Williams covered the Bengals receiver too well, looking for a flag for pass interference. No flag, and after a couple more plays moving the ball to the Browns’ 27-yard line, the night took shape as Burrow saw another pass to Higgins tipped by Myles Garrett and landed in the arms of cornerback A.J. Green.
While Burrow and the Bengals knew things would be different without his main target Ja’Marr Chase, they knew there was enough talent to survive with the offense still fully capable of putting up points.
Burrow would end the night with two touchdowns and 232 yards passing to go with the early interception, but it came after being down 25-0. Tyler Boyd, who always seems to play big against the Browns, was on the end of a 13-yard touchdown, and Higgins would highpoint the ball for a 41-yard score.
That was all the offense the Bengals could muster on a night that belonged to their cross-state rivals as their record against the Browns since the start of the 2019 season moved to 1-6.
After the game, Burrow spoke with the media keeping his composure as he’s done no matter the outcome.
