Mar.12 — European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde says the ECB has the “most efficient, best targeted and most focused set of tools to address the kind of risks that we are facing under the current circumstances.” Lagarde made the comments in response to questions by Bloomberg’s Piotr Skolimowski during the ECB’s monetary policy press conference in Frankfurt. Earlier on Thursday, policy makers unveiled a calibrated package of measures aimed at “surgically” supporting key parts of the euro-area economy hurt by the coronavirus outbreak.
