For decades the dollar has dominated world markets to become the backbone of the international capitalist system. Now, however, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting sanctions against Vladimir Putin’s regime may have breached the dollar’s dominance. That, at least, is what many experts think.

In this new video made in collaboration with Value School, we tell you what role the dollar plays in the global economy and what risks the war in Ukraine has posed to its dominance.
