Jun.07 — The European Commission is reviewing its Environmental Crime Directive, updating what is considered environmental crime and how companies should be made liable. The proposal for the revision is set for the end of 2021, says Environment Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevicius. This revision will create a ‘level playing field and contribute to the EU’s 2030 goals’. He also spoke about the Commission’s pollution targets and how it will all play into achieving goals set out in the Green Deal. (This interview aired May 31, 2021).
