Bacardi CEO Ed Shirley Announces Retirement

BacardiBacardi’s CEO and President, Ed Shirley, has announced his plans to return to retirement. Until an interim appointment is made, the executive will report to Facundo L. Bacardi, the chairman of Bacardi Limited and a fifth-generation member of the Bacardi family.

Under Mr Shirley, new campaigns were launched for Bacardí rum, Dewar’s Blended Scotch whisky, Grey Goose vodka and Martini vermouth. During Mr Shirley’s time at Bacardí, the company also acquired St-Germain elderflower liqueur.

Bacardi Limited has a brand portfolio of over 200 premium spirits including Bombay Sapphire gin, Cazadores blue agave tequila and Eristoff vodka. The firm was founded 152 years ago in Santiago de Cuba on February 4, 1862. The company uses 27 manufacturing facilities and employs over 6,000 people.
