Apple have sold 2 million iPhones in China just three days after the December 14th launch.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said of the sales figures:
“Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China.”
The new device is being rolled out to 100 countries before the end of December in one of the swiftest iPhone roll-outs ever. Apple claims the new iPhone is thinner, lighter & has a longer battery life than all previous models.
The new phone design is available in two colours, black and white, with a suggested retail price of $199 for the 16GB model.
The iPhone 5 was launched in 47 countries at the beginning of December, including South Korea, Brazil, Russia, Taiwan, US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK. It is being sold through the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
