The new James Bond book, written by Jeffrey Deaver, is to be set in Dubai.
The latest tale will see the British Naval Commander visit the Gulf state at the helm of the new Bentley Continental GT. The title refers to the spy being given order to do “whatever it takes”. Where is the line for this hardened servant of Her Majesty’s Secret Service?
The author, Jeffrey Deaver, is best known for penning The Bone Collector, which was turned into a Hollywood movie starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. He is a former lawyer and Wall Street journalist.
Ian Fleming Publications Ltd commissioned the latest novel in the Bond Series. There have been several spin-offs from Fleming’s legacy including The Moneypenny Diaries and Young Bond series. Fleming himself was a versatile writer and even wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Carte Blanche will be released a few days before the anniversary of Fleming’s birthday. The book is being published by Hodder and Stoughton in the UK on May 26.
