Designers Andre De Sa Pessoa, Livia Stoianava and Yassen Samouilov are the force behind couture label On Aura Tout Vu – highly appropriate to their design style this translates as “You think you’ve seen it all”.
Originally starting out as a couture house specialising in heavily embellished crystal accessories for other couture brands the team have come a long way since they made their debut in 1995.
Living up to their name, the designers left their mark yet again this season with a unique and conceptual collection comprised of strong sculptural silhouettes. In their own words “deceiving silhouettes of a mysterious dream”
Abstract Art Deco geometric shapes covered short stiff fur skirts, dresses, bodices and embroidered beaded leggings in a mainly monochrome collection with the occasional accent of violet on a select skirt and dress.
The designers’ trademark Plexiglas crystals were used to heavily embellish garments, creating an armour-like covering. These encrusted panels reinforced necklines, shoulders and hats.
Galactic with a military feel, the catwalk show culminated in a surprise light display. The lights went dark whilst the models reappeared for an encore, crystals on their clothing glowing in the dark and cleverly placed LED systems lighting up shoulders or casting stripes across bodies. This final play of light celebrated and reflected the theme of the collection: Light and Shadow.
