Abebe Bikila wins Marathon barefooted | Countdown to 2016

Countdown to 2016 – December 27th – Abebe Bikila

Ethiopian Abebe Bikila became the first east African to win an Olympian medal after finishing first in the Men’s Marathon at Rome 1960 despite being barefooted. Bikila then defended his title at Tokyo 1964.
