USA: Population of United States is 308 Million

The results of the United States’ 2010 census are in and the official population of the USA has hit 308,745,538. The census result reflects an increase of 27.3 million people, or 9.7 percent, between 2000 and 2010.

Nevada has increase its population at the greatest rate, growing by 35.1% to a population of 2.7 million. Between 2000 and 2010, Texas experienced the highest numeric increase, up by 4.3 million people.

72.4% of the overall US population is “white alone” and 12.8% of the population is “black or African American alone”. More than half of the growth in the total population of the United States between 2000 and 2010 was due to the increase in the Hispanic population, largely through immigration.
