UK Music: YouTube and PRS Reach Agreement – No More Blocked UK Videos

Music fans in the United Kingdom have received a welcome boost today as it has emerged that the Performing Rights Society (PRS) and YouTube have reached an agreement which should spell an end to UK viewers having certain content blocked.

Around eight months ago, talks between the two parties had reached a stalemate. However, at last, the two sides have reached an agreement which will see UK users’ access reinstated to thousands of previously blocked videos.

Patrick Walker, YouTube’s director of video partnerships, told how “This deal provides a positive example that people can come together with the objective of satisfying user demands.”
