UEFA Champions League & Europa League 2011/12 Knock-Out Draws Today

The draw for the knock-out rounds of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League for 2011/12 take place at lunch time on Friday 16th December 2011, when the Last 16 for the Champions League and the Last 32 for the Europa League will be decided.
UEFA Champions League 2011/12 Round of 16 Draw
The Round of 16 for the UEFA Champions League 2011/12 will consist of those teams who placed first and second in the Group Stage this season, with each side who won their group seeded. Teams will not be drawn against clubs from the same federation, or the team they played in the Group Stage round.

UEFA Europa League 2011/12 Round of 32 Draw
The Europa League has a slightly different format. The clubs who won their Group Stage pool are seeded, and will play a team from the unseeded pool. No team can play a club from their Group Stage group, nor a club from their own federation. However, the Europa League also takes eight teams who finished third in their UEFA Champions League Group Stage, with the four with the best points return seeded, and the other four clubs unseeded.

UEFA Club Competition 2011/12 Draw Times – 16th December 2011
The UEFA Champions League 2011/12 Round of 16 Draw will take place from 12:00 noon Central European Time on Friday 16th December 2011. The UEFA Europa League 2011/12 Draw shall follow at 13:00 CET. The draws will take place in Nyon. The Global Herald shall be providing up-to-the-minute coverage from Nyon, as the draws are made and teams begin to see the path to this years finals.
