Tom Humphries wins the 2012 Great 10K

Tom Humphries sprinted to victory in the Great Edinburgh 10K at Holyrood Park on a bright and crisp morning, October 7th, 2012. He beat Andrew Lemoncello, the Olympian tipped to clinch the win after a top performance at the Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, which marked his return after an injury. The pair were followed closely by Derek Hawkins of Kilbarchan.

Tom Humphries represents Cannock & Stafford and took the first place on the podium with an impressive burst of strength and speed.

Also competing today was Olympic Marathon runner, Freya Murray Ross, who recently got married but postponed her honeymoon to take part in the race. Only two weeks before, Murray had run a convincing race at the Great North Run against the World & Olympic champions. She was competing today against fellow Edinburgh AC runners, Gillian Palmer, Sarah Hood & Morgan Murphy.
