The Listener Season 2 Begins March 1st 2011 on FX

The Listener is back! From March 1st 2011, viewers in the UK and Canada will be able to follow the latest action from the telepathic ambo, Toby.

For those who have never seen The Listener, the series follows a paramedic who embraces his telepathic powers to help those in need. With the help of his trusty workmate Osman Bey and ex-girlfriend Dr Olivia Fawcett, the bonny blue-eyed hero reads people’s thoughts to fight crime and save lives.

The addictive series is set in Toronto and in season 2 Toby ups the ante by revealing his gifts to Sgt McCluskey at the Integrated Investigation Bureau. Within the unit at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Toby is soon involved in much more dangerous and important police work.  There will be consequences though, as the minds of violent criminals are upsetting places for Toby to explore.

Episode 1 “Lady in the Lake“: Toby attempts to help an amnesia patient who is found in a lake. He sense that she is in danger and unwinds a web of corporate obfuscation, fraud and murder.

Episode 2 “Crime Seen“: Toby is well and truly part of the IIB team and Sgt McCluskey uses him to find out about an arms drop but he is drawn much further in once a cop is shot dead and the police race against time to catch the murderer and intercept the grenade launchers about to be sold.

Episode 3 “In His Sights“: In his new role as a confidential informant for the IIB, Toby’s first assignment is to help with an assassination threat against a Conservative leadership frontrunner. It later transpires that this high-ranking military colonel may have been involved in the disappearance of an army private under his command in Afghanistan.

Episode 4 “The Brothers Volkov“: After Toby and Oz respond to a 911 call to find a Russian Consul General dead Toby is called into help Michelle investigate his death. Michelle may need more than a simple confession to close the case.

Episode 5 “Inner Circle“: Toby is brought in to investigate some corrupt cops but finds himself in over his head when one of them ends up dead from a suspected drug overdose.

Episode 6 “The Magician“: When an imprisoned criminal mastermind holds the key to the whereabouts of a kidnapped judge, Sgt. Michelle McCluskey enlists the help of Toby to read him. By using his gift to help Michelle, Toby suffers from unexpected side effects.

The Listener will air on Tuesdays at 9pm starting on 1st March 2011, on FX in the UK and on CTV in Canada.
