amen to that. could not agree more with you. It is unfortunate that this decider is actually decided by poor umpiring decisions. And it looks like Australia will loose another Ashes tour because of some absolutely horrible umpiring decisions just like in 2005.
I was never for the 4th umpire until now. I think it is time now to bring the technology to the game, that evolved so much but umpires have not.

To Ian d… England has had their fair share of bad decisions… Strauss and Colly given out to no balls… Watson stone dead twice… So please..DO stop whingeing. Should Aus have been in Eng’s
position you wouldn’t be moaning.

Broad and Swann both will be on a high after England’s second day’s performance at the Oval. Broad is probably at his best, yet again helping himself with a 5 wicket haul, supported equally well by Graham Swann. England should remember that Australia can bounce back any time and can make what looks like impossible possible. So all you English players dun get complacent, score as much as possible on third day to leave a huge total for Aussies to combat with.

Of all the South Africans to take the field against the Aussies, you would have to have Rudi close to man of the series. I appreciate this may come across as ‘typical whingeing Aussie”, but fair dinkum, anyone who understands the basic premise of this great game would have to agree that this man alone has been responsible for making the 5th test the decider.
Also, I’d like to thank the ICC, who, at a time when Test cricket is under serious threat from the mindnumblingly repetitive T20, cannot ‘take their guard’, & resolve this umpiring debacle. Over 130 years, 2000 test matches we still cant resolve an issue that is the basis of the game itself. The players have changed their fitness levels & training regimes, the equipment we use is no where near the level of what we had at the start. Bring on Technology, bring in 3rd, 4th or 5th umpires, referrral systems, anything/something. Just dont sit there counting the rupees.
& finally, & I’m sure Mr R Ponting would agree, but I would have loved to see the outcome of this series had the referral system been in place.

Great effort from the bowlers who hit the mark but they must repeat it in the second innings and make this beaut of a bowling strip work for them and not drop too short.
As for the remaining batsmen………….. attack …. because if prod about will be back in showers early.
But the Aussies aren’t finished, much to do, but come on you lions !!!
