Swedish Government Releases Foreign Travel Advice App

The Swedish government has released an iPhone app collating the latest travel advice for Swedes abroad. The app includes the latest information from Swedish diplomatic missions abroad as well as vaccination advice from other agencies. The info is divded into pre-travel information and updates whilst in-country such as warnings and travel restrictions.

The Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt announced the new government initiative on 22nd June 2011:

“We hope that the app will make it easier and smoother for travellers to keep themselves updated on the Ministry’s travel information. We are proud to be among the first countries in Europe to offer this service.”

“UD Resklar” is currently only available for the iPhone via the Apple App Store, though there are plans to roll out the software for Android. The app is available for free at the following address: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ud-resklar/id441456703?mt=8
