Sport: Jamie Whyte Wins Challenge Wanaka

Kiwi triathlete Jamie Whyte, claimed the Challenge Wanaka title on Saturday 15th January 2011, beating 1,200 athletes over a  226km course. Belinda Granger of Australia took the women’s title, followed by Simone Maier of NZ.

With a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 42.2km run, the iron-distance challenge is part of a global series of 12 events which take place in Australia, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Austria and NZ.
