Royalty and Celebrities Turn Out at Dubai International Film Festival

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum and actor Tom Cruise strolled along the red carpet on their way to attend the premiere of “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” at the opening day of the Dubai International Film Festival.

Cruise stopped to pose with his colleagues Anil Kapoor, director Brad Bird, Paula Patton and Simon Pegg, who had also travelled to Dubai for the festivities.

On the opening night, royalty and film stars were treated to gala reception at the Madinat Jumeriah Complex, where Composer AR Rahman received a Lifetime Achievement Award. The festival continues for a whole week with 46 film premieres and 89 films entered for the Muhr Awards, which feature total prize money of US $600,000.
