Royal Wedding 2011: Commemorative 20 Cent Coin to Circulate in Australia

A special edition 20 cent will enter into Australian circulation following the wedding of to . Vladimir Gottwald designed the coin for the .

Assistant Treasurer Bill Shorten said of the release:

“There are many royal collectibles out there but this circulating coin creates the excitement of checking your change to see if there happens to be a collectible right there in your pocket.”

A matching gold-plated 50 cent coin will also be available to purchase from the Royal Australian Mint from 30th April 2011.
