Recipes: Quick and Easy Chili with Beans

Finalists celebrate at the 2011 Terlingua Texas Chili Festival
Larry Walton won the 2011 Terlingua International Chili Championship with his signatory mix of seasonings in the culmination of a series of chili cook-offs. The 44th annual cook-off trophy was organised by Chili Appreciation Society International, a non-profit organisation which raises over $1 million for charity each year through the contests.
The Chili Appreciation Society International recommends the following recipe for those stirring their first bowl of chili:
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 16oz. can Casa Fiesta Peurnos Beans or (any bean of choice)
1 1.6oz. pkg Mexene chili powder
1 8oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
Method
Over medium heat, heat skillet and brown 1 lb. ground beef until fully cooked and crumbly. Drain off all excess fat Ass one cup of water, tomato sauce, mexene chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Stir until all ingredients are mixed. Add peurnos bean and stir until mixed throughout the chili. Bring to a light simmer and cook for about 8-10 minutes.
