RBS 6 Nations 2011: Shane Williams to Miss France v Wales

Welsh winger, Shane Williams, looks set to miss this weekend’s France v Wales RBS 6 Nations 2011 match, after the player failed to recover from a knee injury picked up in the victory over Ireland at Millennium Stadium on Saturday 12th March.

Wales medical manager, Prav Mathema told:

“Shane will be out of action for a period of six to eight weeks after sustaining damage to the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the match at the weekend,”

“Thankfully there is no need for surgical intervention and he will now undergo a period of rehabilitation which will see him return to full fitness.”

The Wales squad announcement for France v Wales will now be made on Thursday 17th March 2011.

France v Wales will be the final match of RBS 6 Nations 2011 – the match kicks off at 20:45 CET on Saturday 19th March at the Stade de France, Paris, France.
