Polo: Sentebale Cup Moves Venue from Dubai to Berkshire, UK

Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) will play against each other in the Sentebale Polo Cup, which has been rearranged at a venue in Berkshire, UK.

The Sentebale  Polo Cup will now take place on 12th June 2011 at Cowarth Park in Berkshire, England, instead of at the original venue in Dubai. The event was rearranged to allow for the necessary focus of attention on the pressing political concerns in the Middle East.

The event is in aid of Sentebale, a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho orphans in the African nation. The Duke of Cambridge, however, will play for the opposing team in support of Tusk Trust.

This will be the second Sentebale Polo Cup, after Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho launched the event at the Apes Hill Polo Club in Barbados in January 2010. The 2011 match is being sponsored by Royal Salute whisky.

Cowarth Park offers stabling for 30 horses and 8 grooms. Iain Forbes-Cockell, known as “Major”, is the Polo Manager at the estate. Fixtures at the venue this year include The Coworth Park Challenge and the The Valerie Halford Memorial.
