PGA Championship 2012: Rory McIlroy Shoots 67 in First Round

Northern Irishman, , shot an impressive round of 67 – five under-par – to end the opening day of the US in joint-second place.

McIlroy trails lone-leader, Sweden’s Petterson by one shot, along with Woodland (USA), McIlroy (NI), Fernandez-Castano (ESP) and Noren (SWE), all of whom ended day one on -5.

The full leaderboard for the tournament, which began at Kiwiah Island, SC, USA, on Thursday 9th August 2012, is as follows:

-6: Pettersson (Swe)

-5: Woodland (US), McIlroy (NI), Fernandez-Castano (Spa), Noren (Swe)

-4: Daly, Bradley, Piercy (US), Luiten (Net), Ogilvy, Baddeley, Scott (Aus), McDowell (NI)

The tournament continues, and will conclude on Sunday August 12 2012.
