Motoring: World’s Fastest Car Goes Into Production

The world’s fastest production car is now being built in Molsheim in Germany after receiving its European release. The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport achieved a speed of 268 mph (431km/h) at Ehra-Lessien in July.

Five special edition black and orange models with the exact same configuration as the land speed record car have already been sold before being built.

Pierre Henri Raphanel drove the car into the record books powered by 1,200 horsepower (882Kw). The car boasts a twin clutch gearbox with seven speeds.

The skin is made entirely of carbon-fibre composites, and the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is available in 100 percent clear-lacquered exposed carbon on request.
