Shawn Carter a.k.a. Jay-Z has agreed to be the face of Duracell Powermats. Stassi Anastassov, the President Duracell, at Procter & Gamble described the world’s most famous rapper as a “natural choice” to become the face and voice of the company’s new wireless charging technology owing to his “best-in-class” rating, which matches that of the new brand.
For his part, Jay-Z explained his decision as a look to the future:
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution. I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
The financial terms of the promotional deal have not been disclosed.
Duracell and Powermat began their joint venture in January 2012 with Ron Rabinowitz as CEO. Duracell is owned by Procter and Gamble.
