ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: New Zealand Trounce Kenya

New Zealand made short work of Kenya in their opening ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 match on Sunday 20th February 2011.

New Zealand won by ten wickets after Kenya had won the toss and elected to bat, only to be skittled out for 69 All Out from just 23.5 overs.

New Zealand took just 8 Overs to pile on 72 runs without loss to win the match.

Only Patel (16 Not Out), Waters (16) and Obuya (12) made double figures in an uninspiring Kenyan batting performance, which saw Bennett of New Zealand collect 4 wickets for 16 runs off 5 overs. Southee and Oram took three wickets each, the latter for just 2 runs off 2.5 overs, in a dominant performance from the Kiwis.

New Zealand openers, Guptill (39) and McCullum (26) required no help in reaching and surpassing the Kenyan total in just 8 overs.
