Hurricane Irene Expected to Make Landfall Shortly

Hurricane Irene is expected to make landfall on the United State’s East coast shortly after skirting Haiti leaving only minor damage. The storm has since gained intensity with maximum gusts of 130 knots expected on 28th August 2011. Parts of Virginia and North Carolina have been issued with hurricane warnings with parts of New Jersey receiving tropical storm warnings.
