HRH Prince Andrew to Abseil Down “The Shard” Skyscraper in London

HRH , the Duke of York, is set to down a London skyscraper as part of a charity fundraising effort for the and .

The prince will join a handful of entrepreneurs and philanthropists raising money for underprivileged young people in the to experience the great outdoors and build the skills they need for life. The brave group will descend 1,056 feet of Europe’s tallest building on 3rd September 2012.

Businessman, Fasha Mahjoor said of the challenge:

“Some may think I’ve gone a bit mad to undertake this challenge. But being that it’s for such a wonderful cause that I so very much believe in, I couldn’t possibly turn down the opportunity. To raise money to ensure that this program continues to impact the lives of many more young people for years to come is simply a privilege.”

Nobody at The Shard need shut their curtains, however, as the building will not open to the public until early 2013.
