Håkan Jevrell is Named Swedish Ambassador to Singapore

Håkan Jevrell has been named as the new Swedish Ambassador to Singapore.

Mr Jevrell’s career has spanned appointments as District Prosecutor at Västerort local public prosecution office in Stockholm, deputy head of coordination at the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office and State Secretary at the Swedish Ministry of Defence between 2007 and 2012.

A member of the Moderate Party in Sweden, Mr Jevrell served as State Secretary under Sten Tolgfors at the Ministry of Defence. Mr Tolgfors resigned in 2012 after criticism over an arms deal with Saudi Arabia.

Mr Jevrell will take up his new position in autumn 2013.
