Following today’s 2009 Brazilian Grand Prix, British driver , of , will be crowned the 2009 World Champion.

The driver, who was not sure of a position within any team until very late in the preparation for the 2009 season, has been racing in Formula 1 since taking a slot in the Williams team in 2000.

Button lifts the 2009 Championship having taken points in every single race, except the Belgian Grand Prix (during which Button crashed), and having won six of the first seven races.

His team, Brawn GP, have remarkably won the Constructor’s Championship too, in their first season as a Formula 1 team: Brawn was developed from what was leftover following the collapse of the Honda GP team in 2008, with taking the helm and giving a team his own name for the first time.

Button’s team mate, former long-term Ferrari man, , is in third place for the Driver’s Championship, trailing Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull by just 2 points.
