Football: UEFA Europa League 2011 Quarter Final 2nd Leg Fixtures, Thursday 14 April 2011

The 2011 UEFA Europa League Quarter Finals conclude on the evening of Thursday 14th April 2011 as the eight sides remaining in the competition play out the second leg of their home and away ties.

With three out of the four matches requiring large home victories, and one match evenly balanced, there is a potential for an upset this evening, and, it seems, plenty of incentive for sides to come out hunting for plenty of goals: excitement beckons.

Spartak Moscow v FC Porto (Aggregate 1-5) – Kick-Off (CET) 19:00

FC Porto travel to Moscow with a four goal cushion that the hosts will have a hard time turning around. Any away goal for Porto would see Spartak faced with the huge task of scoring five to remain in the tie, so, as with most second leg matches this evening, the opening goal is all-important.

Braga v Dynamo Kiev (Aggregate 1-1) – Kick-Off (CET) 21:05

Braga, of Portugal, entertain Dynamo Kiev in the closest of tonight’s matches, knowing that they hold a marginal advantage in the away goal secured in last week’s first leg. Its a straight shootout tonight, though Kiev must score, or they are out.

FC Twente v Villarreal (Aggregate 1-5) – Kick-Off (CET) 21:05

Dutch side FC Twente need to win 4-0 or better in this home fixture or they are out of the UEFA Europa League – that looks to be a big ask against the strong La Liga outfit, Villareal.

PSV Eindhoven v Benfica (Aggregate 1-4) – Kick-Off (CET) 21:05

The third Portuguese side remaining in the Europa League, Benfica, travels to Dutch outfit PSV with a three goal advantage from their home leg. PSV, like Spartak Moscow and FC Twente have to pick up a multiple goal win if they are to avoid a Quarter Final exit in front of their home support.
