Football: UEFA Champions League Fixtures, Tuesday 2nd November 2010

Tonight sees the return of UEFA Champions League football: eight fixtures are scheduled to take place across Europe.

All eyes will be on White Hart Lane in London, where Tottenham Hotspur take on Inter Milan. A fortnight ago, the away fixture at the San Siro, between these sides, saw an incredible 4-3 scoreline, with last season’s UEFA champs, Inter, storming away to an early three goal lead. Harry Redknapp’s men will be hoping for a more positive outcome at home.

Elsewhere, Benfica welcome Lyon in Group B, while Manchester United travel to Turkish outfit Bursaspor in Group C. A win for Lyon will see them through to the next phase, while a United victory would make them almost assured of a place in the next phase, too.

Also in Group C, Valencia take on Glasgow Rangers – with the winner claiming second berth in the table behind Man Utd. An early goal could see that one develop into a really exciting match.

Barcelona travel to FC Copenhagen for their Group D match – an away win for Barca would put a little distance between them and tonight’s opponents, who currently sit one point behind them in second place in Group D.
