Football: UEFA Champions League 2010 – Barcelona and Messi Brush Aside Stuttgart to claim place in Quarter Final

Barcelona became the final side in the Quarter Final hat for the 2010 UEFA Champions League this evening as their Argenitinian superstar Lionel Messi helped them to record an impressive 4-0 home victory over Stuttgart at the Camp Nou this evening.
Barcelona progressed 5-1 on aggregate following a first leg draw in Germany.
Messi proved to be the difference tonight, providing the opening goal on 13 minutes with a ruthless strike which beat Jens Lehman in the German net before adding the third killer blow on an hour, after Pederito had doubled the home team’s advantage on 22 minutes.
Bojan added a further goal on 89 minutes which rounded off a comprehensive victory for the defending champions, who are surely favourites for Champions League 2010.
In tonight’s other match, Bordeux recorded a 2-1 victory at home to Olympiakos to progress 3-1 on aggregate. The draw for the Quarter Final matches will be made on Friday 19th March 2010 at 12 noon CET.
